Well.  I took out the paper tray, and the tray above that for the 
output. looked over it again, and then I put it back in firmly, and 
loaded the papers back in, and now it is printing.  I don't know what 
to make of it except that its a bit user knowledge or lack of and a 
little design flaw. I can live with it, now that I know the tray needs 
to be in snug, and then some for it to be working.

I thought I did this before, but this time it worked.

btw...I too had some ink at the tip of the kink.
