Hi folks,

I wonder if anyone has seen something like what I've posted below. I
was printing B/W from my DJ30 (Mac 10.4.9) on a 13 x 19" sheet of HPPP
Satin. After some time, it appears as if the black just stops getting
put down, and I get a red section of print. Then more black. Then it
stops again.

A link to the photo is here:

It's not consistant in terms of where it happens (so it's not
something strange with the file). I cycled the power on both printer
and computer, tried a couple different applications for printing, did
the cycle of print head cleanings (soft, med, hard), took the
cartridge out and reseated, took the printhead out and cleaned
contacts. Nothing seems to have much of an effect. I've cranked out
several bad letter size prints of this as well (on HP Photo Glossy
stock---cause it's cheap...)

Printhead is relatively new---I had replaced the black a while back
because I was seeing some banding, but I'm now wondering if that was a
sign of something more serious. The black cartridge has also been
replaced within the last couple months.

I'd be grateful for any ideas. Thanks!

Jim
