Are you suggesting that you have a clogged line? Perhaps your Cartridge is malfunctioning?
Like you said somewhere the supply of ink is being blocked. The redish color you were seeing might have been the ink that was laid down Prior to the Black that was intended. Is your Black having the same problem in your prints? (like always on the upper left side?)
