As they dull, the performance drops off. As far as I could tell, HP sells only the cutter assembly, not just the blade.
I took a good look at the idea of trying to remove, sharpen, and replace the blade, but it didn't look feasible so I just bought a replacement. Time to go shopping or switch to a lighter paper.
