I am sorry, Fred, but licensing IS important. I have been following the
redbase thread on the forums, and it is simply amazing that Thomas now has
asked hsqldb to change the copyright notices distributed with hsqldb, and
the license wording has been updated in his page.

I don't want to be stuck developing and supporting a product which I may be
prevented to use on the future when another "license update" occurs, as it
may happen with the redbase guys. I am not defending their practice of
basically selling a free product, but one needs CLEAR rules and they can not
change in the half-time.

I started using hsqldb and we comply with the current license, but this
license issue needs to be clarified once and for all. Apparently the current
wording is not complying with Thomas initial license for 1.43, and I take
this from his post in the forum. I need an answer, or  I can not take the
project seriously. Refusing to discuss this point is not an option IMO.
