Hi. It's been a while since I've participated so please forgive if this question has already been answered.
I'm the proud owner of a new macintosh and have recently "upgraded" to mac os x 10.1. I installed the Developer Tools (which contain all the compilers and necessary libraries) but I am still unable to get htdig to compile. It appears to have a problem identifying the architecture during ./configure and I suspect that this impacts make's ability to actualy make the installation files. I've tried following, with some minor modifications, the instructions posted at http://www.stepwise.com/Articles/Workbench/2000-02-26.01.html to no avail. In particular, I suspect there is a problem with the fact that those instructions are for os x server, and I'm running os x client. FYI: the client is virtually the same as server with the principal exception that it doesn't come with any network administration tools (except those found in the standard shell). Can anyone point me in the direction of some better instructions or hints as to why htdig fails to configure/compile on mac os x 10.1? Thank you much.
