Hello Erik Yes, I expect the OpenGL version is too low. I found that only the most recent of my 4 machines supports OGL 2.0 -- I'm trying to upgrade an older desktop with a new video card, but my laptops will never run pvQt.
There is a good "GPU capabilities viewer" at oZone3D.net which will give you all the details of your card's and drivers' capabilities. Of course pvQt should check the capabilities itself and tell you nicely when it can't work.
