I have tried 'use images selected in preview' not selected and no
difference. I think this is how it had been set.
The .pto project file, now that is a bit of a mystery. Normally that
is saved to the project dir (i.e. where I have my project image
files), but there is no sign of it.
That seems to be another strange aspect of the F9 version
behaviour...perhaps just here.

Yes. I have installed autopano-sif-c-2.5.0-0.1.20080424svn.fc9

The F8 0.7.0 package was OK, because I had been using that up until
the F9 system install.
