I had a quick look at your camera.jpg images, and managed to get what appears to be a reasonable result by simply loading the two images into hugin, finding control points with CPfind, and running a few interations of cleaning control points and optimisations, then stitching and saving remapped images. The remapped images seem to align pretty well, but I haven't done a rigorous check on that. This is the general process I have used in the past to register images. The pano_trafo command (see man pano_trafo) can be used to get the corresponding coordinates in the remapped images. Hope this helps.
