Recorded Hums use standard Hertzian equipment to capture the sound. In
Matty's case diesel engines. The Hum as reported and talked about
here, is not Hertzian in nature, it's something else, so it can't be
captured using something like a tape recorder or something similar.
( When is someone else going to twig it? ) It would appear that only
biological life has the (dis)ability to pick up this phenomenon - us,
and as has been observed the animal kingdom too. The tinnitus theory,
so promoted here is correct for those suffering from the exceedingly
rare low frequency tinnitus, but for the rest of those suffering from
the globally reported environmental Hum it just comes across as
absurdly ridiculous. How anyone can be comforted and cheered up by
the fact that they have tinnitus is beyond me. Tinnitus in it's true
from is an appalling condition, and can at worst lead those sufferers
to a life of misery, even suicide.
