its depending on
* open strings lenght
* the room issue (key sizes)
* materials
* daringness

about Materials and daringness: one of the problems is the strenght of  
the joint between the slides and the keys: the position of the slides  
is fixed - if the keys are designed wider they move away from the  
slides and the joint gets weaker: the use of stronger materials might  
help, a more daring maker might decide for a wider keyboard and weaker  
joints.
