Hi,

I have replaced the lower G melody string on my Gotschy Phoenix, and
it seems it doesn't require as much tension to produce the same pitch
as the old one. The problem is that as I crank faster (no keys
pressed) the string vibrates so much that it starts to touch one or
more tangents at half string length. The string is a high tension
string recommended by Helmut himself.

What can I do to prevent the noise? Should I compensate by adjusting
the fret a couple of millimeters at the peg end of the string?
