The only problem with candle wax is that it can actually make things worse
because the layer of wax has to lie on the surface of the wood. If the keys
are very tight, the wax can fill up any spaces. It is, however, good if the
keys are sticking because they just catch rather than have swelled.
Another thing that is good is a silicon spray that is used to lubricate
plastic curtain runners. I used to have a bottle of it which I used for
years (on a different instrument - a push button accordion on which the keys
were a little tight) but I don't know if it is still made.
I wouldn't worry about the Teflon - why would you want to remove it anyway?
You can't have a key that you want to stiffen up again. Easy movement is
what you want to keep.

There is another option you can try as well: candle wax (called paraffin in
the U.S., but not in Britain). I know some makers who bur their keys on
lumps of the stuff in order to make them more slippery and to reduce the
impact of humidity on them. (The wax provides a barrier to humidity: it won’t
stop it, but it does slow it down.)
