The main work-around I found for that is to jam your song together in
pattern mode, all the while recording the MIDI output to an external
software sequencer such as CAKEWALK. Don't forget to blast out the sysex for
your song style to the sequencer as well. Then export your CAKEWALK file as
a MIDI file and open it up on the RM1x in song mode.

It's a bit of a nuisance getting the SYSEX right, but it's worth the effort.
