If you use Cakewalk, it's easy. I do it like this: Select a track in
Cakewalk and set it to send data to the midi port of the SBlive (SBlive A or
B). Then play anything on your RM1x, the SBlive should now play along...

Selecting soundfonts? : You need to load then first into one of the banks
(Soundfont Control, configure bank, select a free bank and load soundfont.
Note the number of the bank where you loaded the soundfont into.
Now set the correct bank in Cakewalk (the number of the bank you loaded the
soundfont into) and select a patch (0..127) If you have set Cakewalk to use
the soundfont manager, the names of the patches will automatically show.

If you note these number it should be possible to select them from the RM1x
as well (use controllers 0 and 32, and send a program change).

What you do need is a midi thru program. Set this to accept data from your
MIDI port and send it to the SBLive A: output... (BTW: you can use Cakewalk
as a midi thru mapper, see above)

So, in short, soundfonts can be loaded into any of the SBLives 127 banks,
you can select a loaded soundfont by sending controller 0 and controller 32
messages (although I guess with the SBlive just controller 0 will do as
well), then select the correct patch number with a program change. The
soundfonts can be used on any of the SBlive's 32 midi channels. Note: Some
soundfonts have splitzones in their setup,. so that a specific sample will
only play for a certain note range. You can discover which ones are set (if
any) with the Vienna software...
