I've paused the work on the mapping stuff when i started my master
thesis.. i suppose that i can work on it again in some weeks and
    that it
    will be included in 0.9.7.

hi Sebastian,
i do like the midi mapping option, but i cant help thinking that maybe the root cause should be fixed : make the drumkits GMcompliant being able to reconfigure the mapping is really great (especially for kits that are no 'real' drumkits and that you will never be able to fit into a GMcompliant form anyway), but if we would have true GMcompliant drumkits that also means that you can create a pattern, and load any of the other GMcompliant drumkits and the pattern will still be OK

if you 'fix' a drumkit by remapping midi you still wont be able to load another kit without 'breaking' the pattern (if you understand what i mean)

Hi Thijz,

sure, the midi-mapping (better: "midi-input mapping") does not cover this case, and it was never meant to do this. The mappings are useful if you want to use the same drumkit with different input controllers or if you to map the incoming midi notes from a GMKit-compatible sequencer.
