I checked Saylorville this morning and there has been substantial turnover
since yesterday. The only loon on the lower lake was the Pacific. While I was
watching it from Cherry Glen it took flight and flew a big low circle toward
the dam where I lost sight of it. I suspect that it continued on and is gone.
I did not find the Red-throated Loon or any scoters. At Oak Grove, there were
5 Snow Buntings on the point. Also at Oak Grove, a Long-tailed Duck flew in
and landed with a small flock of Ruddy Ducks.
