I don't get it either. That line of thought carried to an extreme is...well, 
let's just say I shudder at the thought that if those lines of reasoning were 
being extended to actuarial tables, government decisions on labor statistics, 
etc, what the outcome might be.

Straight face? Heck, how about a clean conscience?
