You asked about Flashcopy, but I have STK Snapshot -- so the following may be irrelevant. (Different technologies, different gear.) Still, and for what it's worth: we do full snaps of 62 3390-9 volumes in about two-and-a-half minutes on a STK V2X2. The subsequent backup to tape takes quite a bit of time (something like six hours to a single escon-attached 9840C drive), but our online systems are only down for minutes. -- David Andrews A.
