Hi

i would say - as long as you can produce the data there can be
an unlimited number of jobcards in the jcl - as large as the dataset can be
.
Taking a 4GB Dataset with 80 byte records , you may have more then 50
Million
jobcards in this single JCL-Dataset.

Oh - sorry - he wants to submit this also ?

this is a different story and depends f.E on your Spool size and a lot
of other parameters in JES as also in the system - you need storage in the
system
to handle the submit .
Most important one is your Jobnumber - when you limit it to 32k -
there can be only 32k Jobs in your system.
If you have Jobnumbers with 5 digits - you may have 99999 jobs .
If the person submits his "JCL" - every Jobcard will have a new number .

Subject: How Many Jobcards in a JCL?

Hi all,

Here in my office there is a crazy DB2 admin who asks me every day the same
question. Instead of saying a good morning to me, he always asks me: What
is
the max number of job cards in a JCL?

Please, what is the answer to the above question? I want to stop this guy
bugging me every morning...
