Well, there is one JOB card and up to 255 EXEC cards (one per step), and each step can have any number of DD cards for datasets, inputs, and outputs. So the best answer is "it depends". I thought there was a maximum number of DD statements per step. It was around 1630 before TIOTs were moved above the line. Don't know the max now. There can also be any number of // PROC ... // PEND statements defining temporary procs. The real answer is HUGE, for very large values of huge.
