ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Customer issues the LIST ML1 MCDS after Secondary Space
Management runs. The results of the LIST command shows 0's in
the MIGDS and MIGTRKS field. This is incorrect because the
Migration Activity Log shows data movement from ML1 to ML2 .

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The number of data sets (MIGDS) and number of tracks migrated
(MIGTRKS) for each volume in the list are only applicable for
the last VOLUME migration, and not for LEVEL migration like
SECONDARY SPACE MANAGEMENT. This change was considered, but
was rejected because every implementation either hurt
performance significantly or turned out to be error-prone.
MSGARC0531I is issued after Secondary Space Management
completes, and gives the total number of data sets migrated
and total tracks freed. This is followed by a listing of
the free space on each volume.

An RPC has been submitted to update the DFHSM System
Programmer's Command Reference, on page 447 of SH35-0083-6
to add the following under the existing description for MIGDS
and MIGTRKS:
Both fields are only applicable for the last VOLUME
request, not for a LEVEL request like Secondary Space
Management.
