Indeed, it's a problem with the spell-checker that it can't read one's mind in order to know what was intended - only, with the crude state of the supporting program, whether a word is correctly spelled - not whether it makes sense in context which is obviously what I really need.

It's an unfortunate feature of the keyboard on my new PC (USB connector) that I manage to hit two keys at the same time more than with the keyboard on my older PC (PS/2 connector).

Anyhow that clearly is how "fort" got created and why it crept under the radar.

But I'm puzzled. As far as I can see you are using upward pointing arrows to highlight *two* mistakes. I obviously can see "fort" - now - but your arrows do not identify it - even when copied to a file with non-proportional font. I can't see to what the other arrows refer.

I commented on the spelling of "Unformatted" only because I thought I was spell-checking specifically my text and I was surprised I appeared to have got that wrong. This was not a spelling failure I expected I would make. My favourite "double-letter" problem used to be refering [1] but I've got over that now - I hope.

I'm afraid your "dinosaur" comment didn't make it though my thick hide. Is the IBM world - or the wider world of computing - so anarchic now?

[1] Yes, I know, spell-checker, it's "referring".

I'm going to do this to inject a little levity (I hope)...

Incidentally - only because I spell-check my posts - I may as well
"improve"
your knowledge by pointing out that it's "Unformatted" with two "t"s.

Please do me the courtesy of reading my posts before pontificating. If you

memory needs refreshing, please read through my very recent posts on this
topic. I'll say it again for your benefit fort the umpteenth time, I
                                                         ^^^^
challenged the *belief*, not the *usage*.

Can we all agree that this is spelled 'IRONY'? ;-)
.

Perhaps you do wish to promote "anarchy" after all.

Spoken like a true dinosaur!!
