One of the biggest faults I see with most IT people is > "my favorite platform is the best choice for _any_ use." The company I work for had people who were basically "Windows everywhere!" and you couldn't talk to them about any other platform. We were looking a some sort of "thin client" desktop replacement. When I asked about it, the person doing the evaluation literally said: "I don't like it. It's not Microsoft." Those people are now gone. There are things that z/OS cannot be beat at. There are things that Linux is good at. I'd rather, in general, have a "web infrastructure" based on Linux than z/OS in most cases. Of course, I must admit that I despise Windows. It is a decent desktop environment, if it is secured from viruses. But I like my Linux system desktop here at work (if I could just get it integrated into the MS AD environment) better. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
