I have heard, but I have not tried it so I don't know for sure that it will work, that if you power off your NIP console, that will force the NIP messages to the HMC. In order for the rest of the IPL messages to stay there after NIP is completed, you would need to build a parmlib member (CONSOLnn) that lists the powered off NIP console as the only available OS console. You would need to code an IEASYSnn (that points to the new CONSOLnn member) and feed the new IEASYSnn in on the SPECIFY SYSTEM PARAMETERS wtor.
