I am 55 years old. my main background is MF (if you are old, you are MF), but I can change my preferred background platform with a new platform (I am divorce ;)) . But everyone know (maybe hard to admit) that new technology can happen now only in PC. MF was the only one player in the computer area until the PC take many idea of the MF and become strong player in the computer world. MF must be open to take some good idea from PC to become a better platform.

I take great umbrage at the statement "But everyone know (maybe hard to admit) that new technology can happen now only in PC."

PC software is still FAR behind the MF in areas like security, multi-tasking and I/O management. As long as the PC continues with its current hardware architecture, there will be areas where it NEVER catches up to a well managed MF. Jus look around at the numbers of viruses, worms and Trojan horses are propogated via networks of PC's, vs. the same kinds of invasions of MF machinery. What PC's now call "Busses" went by the board long ago in the MF world. Multi-tasking and throughput management are virtually non-existant in the PC world.

No single platform is perfect for everything; both have their advantages and faults. But a blanket statement is a very sad twisting of reality.
