While this is mostly true, again, even SMF can't read source code objects to 
determine the true use of a file.  Also, SMF does not provide a GUI display of 
the entire end to end use of an object, whether it is a file, database, JOB, 
PROC, scheduling net, etc.  Regardin the RES Suite, depending on your 
enviornment, it can even provide cross platform data flows from the mainframe 
down through any LUW environment.

 There is SEA Software's JCLPLUS
 There is ASG Software's ProJCL or INFO/X

 And there are probably others.

 If you have CA-ESP, there might be some resport process you can use  
 for executed jobs.

 If you have a source change management system (Changeman or  
 Endevor) you can probably do something with that as well.
