ibm-main mailing list is gatewayed to usenet ... outgoing only ... doesn't accept in-coming ... so any posting originating from usenet don't show up on the mailing list. ibm-main usenet is, in turn gatewayed to google groups ... i.e. https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/bit.listserv.ibm-main they are lurkers in the sense that they read ... but don't post ... note that ibm-main mailing list subscribers that never post ... may also be referred to as lurkers.
