Well, this *is* called the IBM Mainframe Discussion List.  Joining a discussion 
group and then choosing never to discuss anything is not quite the same as 
reading a newspaper and choosing not to provide feedback.   

I suppose "lurker" has a somewhat negative connotation - is there a better 
word?  "Viewer?"  "Observer?"
