so true, working for an airspace company many years ago I recall an off
the wall company called SCS, IIRC, Scientific computer Systems, that
sold us an engineering solution to compete with Cray, they touted the
fact all processing was done on one main computer board, one large
computer board, this, as they said gave them the advantage to 'guess'
the solutions faster.
the problem, that board failed once and replacing the processing board took
months :(
