That works fine until 2/3 of the company doesn't read the change request list and I still get in trouble for the system not being available. Just IPLing once a month whether needed or not is less of a headache for me in the long run.

LOL The primary reason was "it's on the calendar every month so the business is used to it and expect that one Saturday afternoon a month the system isn't available. I guess that's easier than asking the business to relinquish it when we actually need to take an outage. I used to work for a site that was rather static software-change wise. Unless we needed to IPL for an upgrade or PTF install, the system got IPLed spring and fall at time change - namely because we had application software that couldn't handle the time change.
