The Omegamon Web Interface can run anywhere. Does not need z at all.
Linux, UNIX, Windows all work. Grafana comes with it for the dashboard
displays and the product is not quite mature yet. Going to be alot of
updates.

I believe the distinction is the compiler used. Linux s390x utilizes GCC C and

Which one? Current one! You don't have to search for anything ancient or rare.
Doesn't Redhat zLinux download page have 2 ISO (one zLinux s390x and the other
zLinux)? I never said anything about ancient nor rare.
I'm guessing the WUI is compiled using GCC and everything it calls must be
compiled with GCC.
Let me simplify that.
It is not about compiler. Neither C nor any other language.
Are you saying GCC & IBM XL C executables / libraries are binary compatible?
IBM does not make this guarantee. Does /usr/lib contain libraries supported by both
compilers?
Which flavour? Well, there are three "main": RHEL, Suse and Ubuntu.
I believe RHEL has 2 distros which would make it four.
