On the list of devices that will be dropped is OSAD, the diagnostic interface to the OSA used by OSA/SF. We have, in our IOCDS, definitions for our OSAs that consist of 15 OSA devices and 1 OSAD device.
I'm no expert on the OSA configuration stuff in current z/OS. I don't even know if we're running OSA/SF (or if it's one of those things that runs all the time). If IBM's dropping support for the OSAD, then how are they going to do the equivalent function? Do I even need to care now, at z/OS 3.2, aside from removing the definition at some point in the future?
