I was thinking it's the UNIT= parameter in an IOCP, but I could be
wrong. Is that considered a device class? I never learned HCD.
For old-to-new DS8000 hardware migrations, I'll often get a CSV config
file from the old DS8000, run it through a script, and come up with CLI
commands that will make the new box look like the old one. I saw some
3380's on a client's box while doing this maybe 5 years ago. Probably
gone by now.

Srsly, device type and model is the canonical way IBM describes things; I'm gobsmacked that this
SoD doesn't list them. Actually it's even worse: it DOES say "Device Types" but then
lists device *classes* (like "CTC").
It seems like the old guard are all retiring and the mouse kids aren't paying
attention. I am sad.
