They drop veeeery old equipment, which actually cannot be attached to
any CPC which could run current OS.
Even 3380 as an emulation is no longer available in contemporary DASD
systems.
OSAD - you can define it, but it is useless. So you will not loose
anything by dropping it.
3290 - the only person who remember this dev is Shmuel (that's a joke).
3330 - really? It's older than me!
9032 - ESCON director. Current OS support z15 and next generations.
ESCON was available until z196.
etc.
What about shops using old equipment? They also use old OS.
I strongly doubt some shop like UBS or BofA is using new shining z17's
connected to Bus & Tag or ESCON attached peripherals.

For old-to-new DS8000 hardware migrations, I'll often get a CSV config
file from the old DS8000, run it through a script, and come up with
CLI commands that will make the new box look like the old one. I saw
some 3380's on a client's box while doing this maybe 5 years ago.
Probably gone by now.

Srsly, device type and model is the canonical way IBM describes
things; I'm gobsmacked that this SoD doesn't list them. Actually it's
even worse: it DOES say "Device Types" but then lists device
*classes* (like "CTC").
