Doing some work in edit (TSO/ISPF). Userid timed out on Friday...

Monday AM, logged on with the original userid (I have two similarly named IDs) and split the screen.

I had some PDS I needed to look at before I could go back to the edit I was in. So when Edit started, it popped up the recovery panel, and I replied "DEFER" and went on to what I needed to check (it was a restore of a backup...).

Now, I needed to look at the backup file, so I swapped screens, used =3.4 to get userid.**.backup, and used view, and it told me what I needed to know (which member of which PDSE) -- (there was only ONE backup file for this ID).

Back to the top screen (I don't do rings), and DSLIST and select the PDSE with "E" and I went to the member selection panel. I should have gotten the recovery panel.

Ok, got out of ISPF and back in to =2 for direct to Edit. Still no recovery panel.

Anyone else run into this kind of thing since, what, about 2009 (seems I was involved in some similar strangeness with userid.**.BACKUP in this area back then -- based on the IBM Main archives).

This is a z/OS 2.1 system.

Regards,
Steve Thompson
