And you said you can see the user.**.backup. Does that means your user.**.backup was deleted? if so use ISMF to see where user.**.backup is created and try to have it allocated somewhere else where it will not be deleted quickly. (You said Friday it was timed out and you tried it on Monday.) Do you have any ISPF exits (exit 16, I think) or macro (RMACRO)? Could you try to reproduce it with PDSE and again with PDS? Just make sure you are the ONLY one using that member. If you can reproduce it, I think you should raise a PMR. HTH!
