Perhaps you can look at RACF / SMF records and SYSLOG and ISPF logs and see if 
you see any strange records during your attempts?

Indeed! It is called: 'Holiday Curtain'.  - Everything is 
closed/down/out-of-city/etc. including pharmacies. Ask me.

'Holiday Curtain' - First mentioned by Museum curator Marjorie 
Courtenay-Latimer when the first Latimeria specimen was found off the east 
coast of South Africa, off the Chalumna River in 1938. She discovered the fish 
among the catch of a local angler, Captain Hendrick Goosen, on 22 December 1938.

In that time (after 22 Dec) she struggled to get co-operation of the then 
ministry of fisheries, universities, morgues, etc. for help to preserve the 
discovery.
