TTOC does not tell you anything about the tape.  It only tells you what HSM
thinks is on the tape.  The fact that HSM is getting I/O errors tells you
that HSM's opinion and reality are out of sync.  You still have no idea if
the tape was overwritten.

Mount the tape BLP and use IDCAMS to print file 1 in dump format.
