Moot point since IBM won't activate or change anything on a z9 now but we had 3CP, 1 zIIP, 2 IFL, and 1 ICF on our z9 before we replaced it with a z114 where we are now in the same "no change possible" circumstance. I imagine that a z13s is in the next budget cycle - just in time to get to another "no upgrade possible" point in the future.

The z9 "gotcha" is even more significant than that. zIIP was introduced with z10. -- Edward E Jaffe Phoenix Software International, Inc 831 Parkview Drive North El Segundo, CA 90245 http://www.phoenixsoftware.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN DISCLAIMER: This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
