As I follow this list, I observe reports of KC problems so frequently
that it's hard for me to accept responsibility on behalf of *my* browser.
But tedious trial and error shouldn't be needed to find a working link.

Understood.  And if the OP is doing mass compares it's likely that he
wants to isolate a few changed members for possible further analysis
by SuperC.

And even as z/OS has IEBCOMPR and SuperC, UNIX has its analogous cmp and diff.
I use the former when I want to determine whether a generated version of
a file is identical to the previous version in order to suppress replacing
it, causing otiose rebuilding of "make" targets.
