I read through every post on this subject and didn't find one person
that answered the question about whether ZZSA supports the Operating
Systems Messages or 3270 Integrated Consoles.
ZZSA was last updated in 1998, so the chances were slim that either HMC
console would be supported. That's also pre-zArchitecture, so I doubt it
works on z14 or higher -- but that's an entirely different question...
My empirical conclusion is that it supports neither of the built-in HMC
consoles.
I downloaded ZZSA, installed it as IPL text on one of my volumes,
brought up all three console types, and then IPLed it in an LPAR on our
z13s.
It did not respond to interrupts from either of the built-in console
types. (I was unable to even click "Send" on Operating Systems
Messages!) It responded only to an interrupt from an OSA-ICC console.
I put in the password of ZZSECRET. All functions seemed to work. Neat
utility!
