Comment #40 on issue 526 by [email protected]: Dead keys (^`~ etc) don't
work in XIM programs

Comment #38 : as I say in my comment, it's very nice suggestion but :
* how do I figure out what to use, suggestions in this thread are m17n,
table, xkb and xkbc.
* how do I use those things? there is no documentation, no README, etc
Overall my concern is mainly in terms of usability. As a user, I want it to
simply work and it does not. I used to type composed characters and I can't
anymore. Apparently there are alternatives but I don't know what to do with
them.
I hope you understand that "use that" is just not an answer, it's as useful
as "google it" when I already did.
Don't take those words wrongly, I mean no aggression, but I just don't know
what you are talking about. When I installed xkbc and m17n I just did
because I thought I could simply use them but I can't find any
documentation (official website or /usr/share/doc) or blog posts talking
about them.
Simply put, "I just want to type <insert language here> composed
characters, why is it so complex?"
