By the way, "Use system keyboard layout" is much worse for kana input on 101-key-type keyboard.
I don't suppose to disable "Use system keyboard layout". There are several problems.
You need to replace all keybindings for us keyboard.
It looks like that for this reason "`" and "@" symbols are treated in a very special way in ibus and thus are problematic to remap to anything else.
