We are aware that this will not work with jp keyboard, which is why we did it, because we have us keyboard. The problem is that the software does not provide us with a way to edit kana typing rules and voiced consonant rules, other than editing table definition directly.
While kana typing rules can be edited in GUI, which is a good step, it will fail because of gconf "Invalid Key" errors.
