One huge, and I mean huge advantage of direct shortcuts is that user doesn't have to keep in mind/check the current IME or most recently used IME (sort of even less practical, imo, when the order changes all the time), he has to press a shortcut and start typing away, without having to pause to consider options visually.

It's much quicker and less error-prone even with just two IMEs/languages, never mind 3/4/5/many. When you add more, you don't have to re-learn. I doubt that the options listed for ibus-1.5 will be any good for users that need multiple IMEs on daily basis.

I understand that at this point the feature is a technical problem to implement. But proposed solution doesn't look like a solution that will work for users who need this feature the most, is all.
