It seems that this caused a problem when building from a tarball, like is
done in jhbuild. There, the GSettings schemas created with
gsettings-schemas-convert (from gconf!) exists in the tarball, and so the
configure check is unnecessary. I chatted with Ryan Lortie about this, and
we could not really come up with a good solution for this, so I suggest
dropping the check, as it is only relevant while building from master.
Attached is a patch which drops the error in the check.
