We have a similar anchor/rode/line configuration. What works best for  
us is to have the anchor hanging from a bracket off the bow pulpit  
(with a bungee cord for extra protection from slipping off). We keep  
the rode and the 150 feet of line in a nice mesh bag made for this,  
which we bought at West Marine for less than $30. This keep the anchor  
ready to use at a moment's notice, and the rope stays neat and  
untangled. Everything dries quickly in the mesh bag.
