Derek,

I made sure that the wiring for the hull-mounted Nav lights was secure and out 
of the way.  (I have removed them since then) 

I also used a large triangular piece of aluminum diamond plate as a backing for 
the bow roller.

I have never had an issue with water.  By the time I haul the anchor in, over 
the roller, the line is pretty well wrung out, so there is not a lot of water 
getting in there.

No. There is no intrusion into the vee berth.
