Hi Derek, I have been storing my anchor rode in the forepeak area for years and have not had a problem. There is a picture in the Sundance Album in the photos section. I would suggest a larger hawse pipe, because feeding in the line tends to be slow. I have a rope/chain splice at the inboard end of the chain, and 200ft of 1/2 inch line. The bitter end is shackled to a short tail that is secured to a 2x4. The tail allows me to pull the shackle through the pipe in the event that I need to add more line.
